 In the NEW QuickBooks (designed for OBBBA compliance):

• Payment Account only accepts bank-type accounts.

• Equity accounts (like Owner’s Contribution) will NEVER appear there anymore.

• Cash on hand is now treated like a bank account.

• Owner’s Contribution belongs in the CATEGORY section, not the Payment Account.

The Correct 2026 Method: 

If you paid for startup costs or business expenses out of your personal account, the compliant method is: 

✔️ Payment Account → Cash on hand 

✔️ Category → Owner’s Contribution 

✔️ Split into the correct business categories (Insurance, Supplies, etc.)
